Origin of the stampset

The Viet Nam-European Union (EU) bilateral co-operation relations have been strongly developing over the past decades, especially over recent years. EU has been the Viet Nam’s biggest non-refund aids counterpart. Nowadays, EU has been actively supporting Viet Nam in fields of developing general human force, assisting in socio-economic renovation process, and in the integration process into the world economy. Being the worldwide greatest market, EU has also been the first economic counterpart of Viet Nam.

The year of 2006 has been marked as the significant development and co-operation stage in Viet Nam and EU bilateral co-operation relations. Being officially established the diplomatic relations in October 1990, Viet Nam, and European Community - the former name of EU nowadays - has had important achievements in comprehensive co-operation relations over the past 15 years. On this special occasion, the Ministry of Post and Telematics (MPT) issues the stampset “Viet Nam - EU co-operation” with 01 value of 800d.

The stampset issuance is considered as the most meaningful activities of the Post to welcome the year of Europe in Viet Nam, and implementing general plan on Viet Nam-EU relations.

The images on the stamp were designed to emphasize the effective co-operation between Vietnam and the European Union during the past 15 years.
