This year we have focused on the tradition of Christmas trees in the Isle of Man and the supporting text, by local historian Robert Kelly, provides a fascinating insight into when Christmas trees first became fashionable here in the early 1850s as a way of raising money for charity, long before Christmas trees became the style statements they are today. Naturally we wanted to have a strong Manx theme running through this issue, so the Three Legs of Mann figure on each of the six stamps as Christmas decorations.
