About 6 kilometers north of Pleiku town, there is a deep-blue large lake called Big Lake (T'nuêng lake) - the pride of Gia Lai province. It is a beauty-spot and an interesting destination for tourists.

According to the science study, T'nuêng lake is formed from an extinct volcano. This is a natural lake with 250 hectares in area, 25 meters in depth.
