Origin of the stampset
On 2nd May, 2005, Ministry of Posts and Telematics (MPT) issues the stampset "Owston's Banded Civet Chrotogale wstoni" consisting of four values and 01 block of 4 stamps with their denominations of 800d, 3,000d, 5,000d, 8,000d and 16,800d respectively.
The stamps feature Owston's Banded Civets in their natural environment of Vietnam. This is rare, valuable and endangered species, listed in the Red book of Vietnam and IUCN as well. The logo of WWF is reproduced on stamps.
