Lunar New Year Festival is most eagerly looked for by the Vietnamese people in a year. Spring turns back and Tet comes - That is the time for members of all families to get together thinking of their ancestors, visiting their friends and relatives... giving one another best wishes: Good luck & happiness. That is why, the Lunar New Year is always an important event for all the Vietnamese.
To welcome the New Year 2006, the Ministry of posts and telematics (MPT) issues the stampset "Year of the dog", consisting of 2 values and 1 block of 2 stamps. This is the second stampset of the second series to welcome the Lunar New Year of Vietnam Post.
- Value 2-1 (3388): featuring the female-dog with her puppy to symbolize the growth and prosperity of spring, denomination of 800d
- Value 2-2 (3389): featuring the male-dog to symbolize the support of every family, denomination of 8000d.
